The 7th Annual Kalamazoo Bike Week was a success. The weather was generally good and attendance at the events was great.  Thank you to all event organizers, volunteers and attendees - we had great fun.

Planning for Bike Week 2019 (May 11-18) began in June 2018 -- and more than ever, will encompass events across Kalamazoo County.  If you want to share an idea, help plan, make an announcement or organize an event during Bike Week, please contact Paul Selden at info@bikefriendlykalamazoo.org.

The last public planning meeting in 2018 is scheduled for October 25, 2018, 4-5pm at the Portage District Library (Austin Lake Room), 300 Library Lane, Portage MI 49002.  If necessary, we will also meet as a group in 2019, with dates yet to be determined. After that most of the planning and implementation of the great ideas we surfaced throughout our meetings held during the summer and fall of 2018 will be in the hands of our wonderful individual event organizers. We may be able to accommodate additional events and announcements up to about four weeks before Bike Week begins.

Please watch this page for additional updates.

National Ride Your Bike to Work Day

More than half of the U.S. population lives within five miles of their workplace, making bicycling a feasible and fun way to get to work. With increased interest in healthy, sustainable and economic transportation options, it’s not surprising that, from 2000 to 2011, the number of bicycle commuters in the U.S. grew by more than 47 percent.

So join others throughout the country, your co-workers and friends ride to work.

Earlier Event: May 17
