About Kalamazoo Bike Week

The purpose of (greater!) Kalamazoo Bike Week is to raise awareness, promote the use of the bicycle (and other human powered vehicles) as a means of transportation, and to celebrate the possibilities cycling has to offer in terms of enjoyment, health, fitness, and its many social, environmental, economic and place-making benefits.

Kalamazoo Bike Week started in 2012 as an initiative between the Parks Foundation, Discover Kalamazoo,  Downtown Kalamazoo Incorporated, local bicycle shops, and local cycling enthusiasts. It would not be possible without a wide range and large number of local supporters. These supporters host, sponsor and facilitate events, and offer incentives to get people to attend and participate.  We also thank our many volunteers for all the work they to to make Bike Week a success!

The organizers of each Bike Week event deserve your support.  Please contact the organizers of each event for more information about their events.  The role of this web site is to publicize everything we are made aware of in one handy place, encourage new ideas and support collaboration!

Bike Week is an annual community event that supports this mission. Check out the events page in May during Bike Week for bicycling related events and rides.  Join in the fun!
